Who is The Irritable Queer?

Banner for author R. Haven. A knife dripping with ink is crossed with a quill dripping with blood.
Picture of R. Haven, a white man with short dark curls, glasses, and a coppery beard. He looks concerned and mildly alarmed. Picture taken at NIGHTMARES FEAR FACTORY in Niagara Falls, ON.

This is R. Haven? He looks like a nerd.

R. Haven is an author of fantasy, horror, and some things in between.

He was born in 1990 in Ontario, Canada.

He’s got frizzy hair, a tendency to gush about his kid, and he’s just as much of a nerd as you probably think he is.

About the Queer in Question

Assuming you’re in the mood to read, let me tell you a bit about myself. I go by R. Haven, and the ‘R’ stands for ‘Red’. This was a name that just sort of Happened. It stuck, and now I will forever be known as a popular primary colour.

I was born on October 6, 1990 in Ontario, Canada. I grew up and amassed symptoms of mental illness like they were trading cards, explored my identity over and over again, and wrote a lot. A lot. My first novel was 450 pages, single-spaced, and it was absolutely terrible. I was ten years old and I had a thing for pirate stories. Who didn’t?

Now I talk into a void on the Internet on the regular. I also write fantasy and horror, producing short stories, novels, and the very rare poem.

I hope you find some of what I say distracting, enjoyable, or informative!
