Happy Diwali to those who celebrate!

It’s been a while since my last blog post – I’ve been busy, then been sick, then been busy again. Went to a pumpkin farm with my kid and saw the real Rapunzel there, had my birthday and started researching different ice cream flavours to put my brand-new ice cream maker to use, and – last but certainly not least – went to the wedding of a very good friend!

There’s been plenty more controversies and dramas throughout October I could write about, but honestly, I just don’t have the energy. I’m still trying to keep this blog focusing hard on positives, so I’m going to do kind of a belated ‘Thanksgiving’ post, today, in honour of my birthday that already past.*

*As in, a day to give actual thanks, not the colonizer holiday.

**Also, this will come early for my American friends. It’s late for Canada, though!

So:

I’m thankful I have family that accepts me for who I am.

I’m thankful for the other family I got to choose and surround myself with.

I’m thankful my kid is healthy, bright, and shockingly well-adjusted despite all the turbulence in her early life.

I’m thankful I’ve had the energy to write 10+ books in my life, so far, and glad I’ve found no shortage of inspiration for books to come.

I’m thankful I found a publisher willing to take a chance on my fantasy trilogy, The Rebirth of Qistedei.

I’m thankful we live in a century capable of producing vaccines, and that I’ve avoided catching Covid so far.

And I’m thankful for everyone who supports me by reading this blog, following me on Twitter, or buys/boosts my work.

And I’m also thankful to have saved all of our story so far in one big document so I can get right back to it now, after weeks of missing it!

‘Sage.’

“That’s your name?” Inanna asked, a bit stilted as she tried to gentle her voice. “Sage?”

Honestly, they didn’t know. It felt as right as anything would, so they simply nodded.

“I feel like I’ve heard that name before,” Inanna mused softly, seemingly to herself.
