Let's Go Party; July 31 2023

Well. I’m giving Twitter – or ‘X’, as it’s now desperately trying to be called – one last hurrah, tomorrow. It’s a pitch event! I figure, why not!

If you want to support me during QueerPit tomorrow, August 1st, you can check me out here, but I think I’m going to be moving over to Bluesky for everything else. You can check out my links if you’re interested, but no hard feelings if you’re not, or if you don’t yet have access to Bluesky. Or, hey, maybe you’re also trying to wait and see what the next social media platform to take off is. Or maybe this whole thing has put you off social media for good! No matter what the case, I’m behind you 100%.

Most of my updates are going to be here anyway, and speaking of!

Remember how I was querying that book? No, not that book, the other one. The Other Face of Sympathy, a book about monsters and the diaries they left behind from when they were human.

Well, that’s been signed on to be published! Release date TBD, it’ll be released with Renaissance Press, and I couldn’t be more excited! I have no idea whether it will be out before or after my fantasy trilogy, but I will obviously keep y’all updated either way!

Signing OFOS has been the highlight, but there’s actually a few awesome things happening in terms of my work – submissions moving past the slush pile to the second round of consideration, some poetry that’s being picked up, stuff like that! I’ll be thrilled to drop links and let you know what’s going on as it comes up!

Now, what else do I have to talk about…

Not that it needs the advertising, but I would say to y’all to see the Barbie movie if you haven’t already! It was a fun time. Also, my interpretation of Ken’s storyline left me feeling very Seen. Obviously it had its faults, and I definitely thought there were times when the movie was trying a little too hard to have heart, but I still enjoyed it!

Also, I dressed as Ken for the theatre. I was the lone Ken in a sea of Barbies, just like everyone’s childhood playing experience.

Thoughts on Twitter/X? The Barbie movie? What I should be blogging about? Leave me a comment!
