Multiple POVs; January 10 2024

January’s been pretty good to me so far, which is why I especially wish my PTSD would stop telling me that imminent death awaits at every window. It’s kind of a downer.

I’ve had some productive doctors’ appointments, one of which was a nutritionist who helped me work out some ways to eat even healthier on a pescatarian diet, and I’ve started a yoga regimen that focuses on reducing back pain. I also am trying out a TENS unit to hopefully reduce my back pain as well, because it’s really starting to get bad.

I’ve also successfully baked two loaves of bread since getting my Christmas bread maker, which feels like an achievement!

Also I might finish writing a novel this month but that’s not as huge a deal. Like, whatever, I’ve finished plenty of novels before.

I’m more excited to get to the end of this one now, though, because I abandoned (temporarily!) a fantasy novel I was working on that just wasn’t clicking, before. It felt like only half a story being told, and it was seriously getting me down. That’s a large part of why I switched gears, went to work on some horror again instead.

But I had a revelation about the number of POVs in said fantasy work-in-progress and it was the answer. It all works in my brain now, so getting back to it will be a delight. I’ll work on that one again while ‘Bedbugs’ (tentative title) gets read by beta readers.

So, uh, if you’re a beta reader and interested in horror, hit me up for this February!
