A Spot for Everything; October 16 2024

Unpacking is better than packing. Still arduous and stressful, but the difference between those two is a mile wide. I’m so sore, utterly exhausted, but sleeping better… even if I am getting used to a new room.

My kid has her own room now, though, and she’s embracing it! I barely had to impress upon her that it’s a responsibility, keeping it tidy and whatnot. I think hers is currently neater than mine, actually. Once I know for sure where some things are ending up, that’s bound to change, but in the meantime…

But that’s always the weird part, right? Figuring out where in your new place everything goes. You seek out the closest location to the thing’s former spot, or barring that, go looking for someplace logical.

The trickiest part so far has been learning this new place’s quirks. There are problems we need to address with the landlord. I’m hoping things are easily fixed; while the problems are few and far between, the ones that exist are going to be a big issue.

So… Fingers are crossed.
