Oh, anonymous blog reader, we’re really in it now.

If you’re in the Greater Toronto Area, you might’ve been affected by the power outage yesterday. There was one hell of a storm, which flooded a power station and took out a huge area. Ours came back after 10 hours, but that was enough time for a lot of our food to spoil.

It’s always something. I’m so tired of being poor. Every little thing has such an enormous ripple effect through my finances. All money goes toward survival, and I can’t get a leg up on the things that will make an impact on my mental health.

Like, dysphoria-covering tattoos, most significantly. But also we need to repair or replace some of our electronics. Even stuff like batteries, we can’t afford right now.

The only thing that gives me a semblance of control is writing, and that’s an illusion and I know it. I’ve been working through a patch of chronic fatigue flares that might be a side-effect of my new medication? Does diabetes medication cause drowsiness? So many do, so I just assumed.

Anyway.

The novel I’m working on is 75% finished, and that’s fantastic! Like I said, it’s the only thing I feel any productivity doing, so I’ve been working as hard as my mental faculties allow. I’ve also started making Tiktoks, where you can listen to me read excerpts of the novel I have coming out with Renaissance Press! … After a few rounds through Google Translate. They’re weird and confusing and a fun time! So, if you have a Tiktok, give me a follow?

Here's hoping things get easier!
