Knew It; July 3 2024

So, I knew it was coming, but… I got some bad news last week, and I’m still adjusting to it.

I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes. Which is one more chronic condition on top of my grocery list of illnesses. I’m not on insulin yet, but I am starting metformin and cutting sugar out almost completely, which is difficult.

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant, but couldn’t manage that with diet because I was literally starving due to my hyperemesis. The doctors warned me I’d be prone to diabetes afterwards, as a result. So… yeah.

Life’s gone on, obviously. I’m working hard to keep my writing streak going. My kid had her birthday party and we went to see Inside Out 2, which was excellent. My house is out of control but I’m hoping my roommates can do the heavy lifting when it comes to cleaning up, because my chronic pain has my back out of commission today.

If life could throw me a rope right now, I’d appreciate it.
