And I Feel Fine; October 11 2023

Thanksgiving weekend has passed, and I’m most grateful for my anonymous benefactor, who has offered to give me a loan to cover the remaining cost of my top surgery! That means –

It’s all funded!

I’ll be keeping the GoFundMe up and open in case anyone wants to contribute to me paying the loan back, but this is – pardon the pun – a huge weight off my chest. Knowing for certain that the cost is going to be handled has literally been helping me sleep at night.

Things have been pretty good all around, I think. I celebrated my 33rd birthday with friends (and my kid helped me make cupcakes and lemon meringue pie), I got some incredible feedback from a literary agent who read my full manuscript in under four days, I’ve been chipping away at my current novel… My main hitch has been struggling to maintain my schedule, but that isn’t such a huge deal that it’s impacted my mood overall. My house is decorated for Halloween, which is sort of like… You know in The Sims, how their environment/décor majorly impacts their happiness? It’s a joy booster for sure!

We also have a new kitten in the house, adopted a few days ago by my roommate! He’s three and a half months old and only has three feet – we were told the fourth had to be removed, but we suspect he may have been born without it. He’s utterly adorable. The other cat is… adjusting.

Last big thing of the day is that I’m participating in DVPit again, this time over Discord, and it’s been going well! Barely an hour has passed since my first pitch and an editor has expressed interest in seeing my work once I’m agented.

So now I just need, you know. To be agented.

Wish me luck, all!
